"So maybe spending all my time locked up in my room with a kitten the bartender gave me isn't such a good idea, huh?" he says to the kitten, watching it batting at his fingers, mewling pathetically. He'd been feeding her, of course; he wouldn't let a helpless little thing starve to death after all. Sneaking down in the middle of the night to get catfood and dishes of water. He hadn't been so choosy about what he ate: last night he'd taken some of the turkey leftovers he'd seen the guy with the horns and furry legs leaving out, bringing up some of the korma.

His curtains hadn't been open. There was a big tree out back that scared him when he went outside. Didn't want to know if you could see it from his window.

But on the other hand, he really needed to give the kitten back.

So he picked her up, stroking her carefully, and headed downstairs.

So. End of the universe.

Huh.

It's honestly not the strangest thing I've ever heard. But that's not the point. 6 foot tall bunny rabbits have to be fairly common, right?

Right, Donnie.

*he sighs*

So... this Richard guy's paying my tab for just now. Or well, it's going on his tab. He's not paying it. I guess I've got to get a job or something?

I'd be a pretty good glass-boy. Waiter. Or whatever.

I'll see. We'll see.

*he stops looking in the mirror, and looks to the bedroom door*

It's been a couple of days. Maybe I should go downstairs. Food would be nice...

If I Should Die Before I Wake...

The world ended in a bang that shook the whole house as the engine crashed through the roof of Donnie's bedroom.

He'd been expecting it. He'd been talking to Frank for long enough to know when the world - not the whole world, just his - was going to end.

So when it did, when he felt the cold heavy weight slam into his body, he smiled.

And when he woke up, he was lying outside a bar.

Strange.

He's fairly sure that wasn't supposed to happen.
